Abstract

Jamil Malik is a well-known poet of the era. He has written Ghazal’s, Nazms, Geet's, and Hicko's as well. But his main area of poetry is ghazal. He has written different Ghazal books like, ‘‘Sarood e Chiraghan’’, ‘‘Parda e Sukhan’’, ‘‘Shakhy sabz’’, ‘‘Shaista Bahar’’. He has presented class division, social inequalities, social oppression, anxiety and depression, exploitation of moral values, traditions and customs, human behavior, development in science and technology, and social situations in his Ghazal. This research paper deals with the social consciousness in the Ghazals of Jamil Malik to know how he has depicted societal awareness in his poetry.
